The Cycle Podcast – 3/1/2010

Posted on | March 9, 2010 | No Comments

Another Monday, another Cycle!  Thanks to all who tuned.  If you couldn’t, or if you want the archive, here you go:

iTunes Update

Posted on | March 6, 2010 | No Comments

Have you not been getting the latest editions of The Cycle Podcast delivered directly to your iTunes?  It’s possible that you’re still subscribed to the old feed URL.  When the site got re-vamped, I updated the feed to be delivered directly from here instead of thru LibSyn.  As a result, some subscribers are finding that they have not yet gotten the new episodes and are having to download them manually.

So to make sure that you’re getting all of the latest content, check your subscription settings:

Subscribe in iTunes

My apologies for the hassle, but this method allows me the most control over how the feed is sent to my subscribers and what happens with each episode.

Thanks for listening!

The Cycle studios are alive once more!  Man it felt good to be back on my own turf, so to speak.  So here’s the Podcast from Feb 22nd, 2010.

The final show from Casa del Squake!  My apologies for the delay in uploading.  I’m working on increasing the capacity on my LibSyn account, but in the mean time I will host the file locally.

Many people ask me about how I host my podcasts, or why they are hosted elsewhere.  In short, I use Liberated Syndication as my host, and I host them there (instead of locally) to cut down on server strain.  Occasionally (though not often) I will have hundreds of concurrent downloads of a file, and that causes a significant load on my server here.  In order to avoid that, and also have great tracking stats and XML, I tend to host via LibSyn.

That said, here’s the show from Feb 15th.  Enjoy!

Sorry for the delay, folks.  Getting the AT&T U-verse set up, and moving into the new place.  But we’re now back in action so here’s an archive that should have been posted this past Monday!

On the Road Again

Posted on | February 13, 2010 | No Comments

OK, so we’re not really on the road very much this time, but we are moving!  After much trial and error, lots of visits and lots of frustration, C and I have finally found our new home.  We’ll be living about 5 minutes South of downtown Nashville, in Williamson County, TN.  Without argument, Williamson County has the best school district in the state…and living 10 minutes from my office won’t be so bad, either.

That said, this week’s Cycle will once again come to you from Casa del Squake as I put the finishing touches onto the new Cycle Studios.  In all honesty, it’s not even finishing touches on the studio, as that’s pretty well laid out.  What we’re waiting for is Tuesday, when AT&T will come install our new U-Verse Internet connection.

For those of you who might be considering a move soon, let me encourage you to look at Nashville.  The city is amazing.  You get that Southern hospitality feel, with easy access to everything you’d want out of any metro area.  I’m honestly shocked at how much I love living here.  There’s (of course) an amazing music scene in this town, but you might be surprised to learn how little of it is Country.  On any given night, the streets of Nashville are alive with pumping, driving bass.  It’s no wonder that I’m blessed to call this city home.

The Cycle Podcast – Feb 1st, 2010

It’s back!  The return of podcasts from The Cycle live show!

The next generation

Posted on | February 9, 2010 | 1 Comment

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a slacker.  Well, not really, but I certainly am when it comes to this website.  I tend to forget to update, break promises about updating and generally just leave it sitting.  However, with the new show time, I know that a lot of my old listeners are feeling a bit left out in the cold.  I certainly want to avoid this scenario and, that said, I’m vowing to be better about the updates.

So watch this space!  I have a new host and LOTS of bandwidth to blow, so I’ll be linking more media from here and updating the podcasts more often.

To those of you who have stuck with me – my thanks.  To the new faces – welcome.
